In retracing Dexter as a whole, there were few doubts about what was the most strong, intense, dramatic and narrative critical of the eight seasons of the Showtime series: the bloody end of the fourth season,
History repeats itself, the discovery of Rita in the bath and the small Harrison in a pool of blood that resembled so closely the same where Dexter baby was found by her adoptive father Harry.

About Dexter - Che ruolo ha Harrison Morgan?

Come promesso, mi piacerebbe discutere più da vicino di Dexter.
Lo vorrei trattare in maniera un pò particolare, avrò letto un milioni di recensioni in questi anni, ma nulla che parlasse in maniera dettagliata dei personaggi, che mai come in questa serie sono numerosi.

Partirei subito a parlare di Dexter ma ho pensato che iniziare da suo figlio potesse motivare maggiormente la critica che bisogna rivolgerle, e parlerei di quei personaggi che nel bene o nel male mi hanno colpito, che nonostante qualche lacuna, resta La Serie degli ultimi dieci - quindici anni.

Il figlio del nostro protagonista che trascorre più tempo con le babysitter che con suo padre.
Più che un personaggio a cui ci si affeziona è un espediente narrativo: mi spiego...quando Harrison risponde all'agente: “Questo è il papà, questo sono io e questa è… la mamma”. Molto convenientemente, 30 secondi prima che arrivasse lo U.S. Marshall, Harrison aveva detto a Dexter: “Io vorrei che Hannah fosse la mia mamma“.
Alta tensione? Ma davvero?

Altra scena è quando cade ed Hannah è costretta ad andare all'ospedale, rischiando così di farsi trovare dalla polizia. Tutto, sempre e solo per la trama, nulla che ci faccia affezionare al personaggio, tutto sempre molto frettolosamente. Perché non fare 18 puntate? Contenuti da trattare non mancavano di certo e i fan neanche.
Harrison è stato trascurato da tutti fin dalla sua nascita...e con la morte di Rita muore anche la speranza di vedere raffigurato un bambino, che dovrebbe rappresentare la parte "buona" di Dexter.

About Dexter - What role did Harrison Morgan?

As promised, I'd like to discuss Dexter.
I would be treated in a way a bit special, I have read a million reviews over the years, but nothing that spoke in detail of the characters, which are numerous in this series: I would like to deal with some characters from the series, the eventual evolution or lack of evolution.




I would start now to talk about Dexter. But I thought that his son might begin to be better, talking about those people who for better or for worse, I was impressed that despite some shortcomings, remains the series of the last ten to fifteen years.

The son of our protagonist who spends more time with the babysitter who with his father.
Harrison is not a character that you are fond of is a narrative device: I mean... when Harrison responds to the agent: "This is the father, this is me and this is... the mother." Very conveniently, 30 seconds before the arrival of the US Marshall, Harrison had told Dexter: "I wish that Hannah was my mom."
High voltage? Really?

Another scene is when he falls and Hannah is forced to go to the hospital, so the risk of being found by police. Everything, always and only for the plot, nothing that makes us attach to the character, everything always very hastily. Why not do 18 episodes? Content to be treated and the fans were certainly also.
Harrison was always overlooked...and with the death of Rita dies also hope to see depicted a child, which should represent the "good" part of Dexter.

Dexter - the best season?

It is difficult to judge a series that has been with us for years, sharing many experiences, very moving us deeply.

And Dexter is part of this group of series that deserves a special bracket, making sure to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of this show that has revolutionized the idea and the concept of the TV series. What differentiates Dexter Morgan from a Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) is in a code of ethics, he learned from his father Harry, when he realized the homicidal tendencies of his son. The intelligent use of voice-over to explain the thoughts of the character is a great way to delineate the border that separates the viewer from the character, a line to which we often approach but do not pass it.

Doakes is discovered in all his skills as a detective. Exciting until the last moment, perhaps a little bit contrived the way the director decides to get rid of the "problem Doakes."










Season 3: For the first time in his life Dexter shares his thoughts and his actions murderer with someone: Miguel Prado.
Going from friend to foe in less than a season and marrying Rita.

Season 4: We know the Dexter family guy and especially Trinity.
Rita's death profoundly affects the viewer. Maybe the season with the most dramatic of the entire series.








Season 5: The guilt of Dexter for the death of Rita, Dexter's baby, the relationship with Lumen, the research group of serial rapists and their leader Jordan Chase.










Season 6: The serial killer Doomsday and brother Sam, perhaps the only positive this season quite anonymous.









Season 7: Debra knows the "Dark Passenger" Dexter, Hannah ("True Love" Dexter), Isaak and death of LaGuerta.
The pathos of this season reach high levels, achieved only with the death of Rita.

Dexter - la stagione migliore?

È sempre difficile giudicare una serie con il quale nel bene o nel male siamo cresciuti, condividendo numerose esperienze, emozionandoci come raramente accade.

E Dexter fa parte di questa schiera di serie, ormai mature, che merita una parentesi speciale, facendo in modo di analizzare i pregi e i difetti di questo telefilm che ha rivoluzionato l'idea e il concetto di serie tv. Quello che differenzia Dexter Morgan da un Patrick Bateman sta in un codice etico, inculcatogli dal padre Harry, quando si rese conto delle tendenze omicide del figlio. L’intelligente uso del voice-over per illustrare i pensieri del personaggio è un ottimo mezzo per delineare il confine che divide lo spettatore dal personaggio, una linea a cui spesso ci si avvicinerà ma che non si oltrepasserà mai. 

Ma come prima cosa, delle 8 stagioni; quale vi ha più colpito, appassionato di più?


Riviviamole con due parole.. 


Stagione 1: Si comincia a conoscere Dexter, i Serial Killer, il padre di Dexter, il suo passato e il suo fratello Brian.

Prende piede una delle serie più intriganti di sempre, e la prima stagione è la sintesi perfetta di ciò che bisogna aspettarsi.









Stagione 2: La seconda stagione ha come protagonisti l'indagine del Macellaio di Bay Harbor e Doakes che sospetta di Dexter.
Doakes si scopre in una tutta la sua abilità come detective che sarà anche la causa della sua fine. Emozionante fino all'ultimo istante, forse un pò forzato il modo in cui il regista decide di liberarsi del "problema Doakes".








Stagione 3: Per la prima vota nella sua vita Dexter condivide i suoi pensieri e le sue azioni omicida con qualcuno: Miguel Prado. 
Passando da amico a nemico in poco meno di una stagione e sposando Rita.

Stagione 4: Conosciamo Dexter il family guy e soprattutto Trinity.
La morte di Rita è qualcosa che lascia il segno. Forse la stagione con più drammaticità dell'intera serie.











Stagione 5: Il senso di colpa di Dexter per la morte di Rita, il bambino di Dexter, la relazione con Lumen, la ricerca del gruppo di stupratori seriali e il loro leader Jordan Chase.

Stagione 6: Il serial killer Doomsday e il fratello Sam, forse l'unica nota positiva di questa stagione abbastanza anonima.














Stagione 7: Debra conosce il "Passeggero Oscuro" di Dexter, Hannah ("True Love" di Dexter), Isaak e la morte di LaGuerta.
Il pathos di questa stagione raggiunge livelli mai visti, toccati con mano solo con la morte di Rita.

Stagione 8: Nel bene e nel male tutti la ricorderete.
