#3 The ten best scenes of Dexter

The fifth season of the series is perhaps the last with superior quality and the storyline between Dexter and Lumen played by Julia Stiles is the latest that has really added something to the show and to the dynamics of its protagonist. This season we choose two key moments: the first contact between Dexter and Lumen, in the final episode of the third "Santa Muerte", the moment when our serial killer realizes the girl who saw him commit one of his murders; the second is the very tense sequence "The darkness beyond the light" in which Debra almost discovers the activities of his brother ... with two seasons ahead of what eventually happened.

#2 The ten best scenes of Dexter

Let's go back to season 2, one of the best of Dexter, and the face-off between the protagonist and Doakes that lasts for the duration of the annuity and that compares the serial killer with the limits of the Code of the father, that would prevent to kill the man who is on his trail and suspected of being the Bay Harbour Butcher.

 Two moments that have affected: in the first place in that the cylinder head that night happened around Dex trims to Sergeant, cold and reasoned, that causes the violent reaction of Doakes in the central and the resulting suspension by Laguerta; second killing the character of Erik King in The British invasion and the way in which the authors are able to get rid of him and his fondatissimi suspects without breaking the code of Harry.

Hannibal vs Dexter (part 2): History of the characters outside of the show

Hannibal Lecter, than Dexter, draws its strength from a decade past of memorable films and books, as well as the masterful performance by Hopkins in a state of grace.
The series starring Mads Mikkelsen, moving the action prior to the capture of the famous cannibal (before and after Red Dragon The origins of evil), we showed a novel Hannibal: a respected psychiatrist, the protagonist of a seemingly normal life which, among the meanderings of a fully equipped kitchen, hiding a horrible secret.
However, as would Dexter, "there are no secrets, only hidden truths," and it is at this level, where the reality of things is completely camouflaged in an appearance not only ordinary but exemplary, which lights up the red thread unites the two serial killers.

About Dexter - Harry's death, Did Vogel kill Harry??

There was a moment, after the director has shown those flashbacks of Matthews, who revealed the truth about Dexter's father that I thought, "But if it was Vogel to kill Harry?"

Yes, but we assume. There are some things that led me to talk about it; think for a moment when asked Debra videos to Vogel. The psychiatrist hides some videos, which means that Vogel has something to hide their children Morgan, and then.. In one of the latest videos Harry says: "Don't think I can live with this burden."
So believe that Harry committed suicide could be a risky proposition.

When Harry says that he did not want to live with that weight, I believed that he was going to confess to the police about what he and Vogel were doing, remember that Harry is an arrogant man, when he adopted Dexter was aware that he could become a sociopath and a disturbed, but went straight to his way.

Another consideration... when the police decide to commit suicide usually decides to shoot himself, hardly a cop with a beautiful career, decide to use poisons to get it over with. It seems to me a technique that would use much more a woman, as Vogel.




Only I have thought about this theory?
All the pieces back in their place, and let's be clear, a psychiatrist who wants to convince a serial killer to "convert" to another on the same principles, is a woman capable of murder.

Dexter - the best season?

It is difficult to judge a series that has been with us for years, sharing many experiences, very moving us deeply.

And Dexter is part of this group of series that deserves a special bracket, making sure to analyze the strengths and weaknesses of this show that has revolutionized the idea and the concept of the TV series. What differentiates Dexter Morgan from a Patrick Bateman (American Psycho) is in a code of ethics, he learned from his father Harry, when he realized the homicidal tendencies of his son. The intelligent use of voice-over to explain the thoughts of the character is a great way to delineate the border that separates the viewer from the character, a line to which we often approach but do not pass it.

But first of all, of the eight seasons; what season you have more passionate?


Review them with two words..


                                                                                Season 1: You start to know Dexter, the serial killer, Dexter's father, his past and his brother Brian.
So begins one of the most intriguing series of all time, and the first season is the perfect synthesis of what should be expected.

Season 2: The second season as the protagonists' investigation of the Bay Harbor Butcher and Doakes who suspects Dexter.
Doakes is discovered in all his skills as a detective. Exciting until the last moment, perhaps a little bit contrived the way the director decides to get rid of the "problem Doakes."










Season 3: For the first time in his life Dexter shares his thoughts and his actions murderer with someone: Miguel Prado.
Going from friend to foe in less than a season and marrying Rita.

Season 4: We know the Dexter family guy and especially Trinity.
Rita's death profoundly affects the viewer. Maybe the season with the most dramatic of the entire series.








Season 5: The guilt of Dexter for the death of Rita, Dexter's baby, the relationship with Lumen, the research group of serial rapists and their leader Jordan Chase.










Season 6: The serial killer Doomsday and brother Sam, perhaps the only positive this season quite anonymous.









Season 7: Debra knows the "Dark Passenger" Dexter, Hannah ("True Love" Dexter), Isaak and death of LaGuerta.
The pathos of this season reach high levels, achieved only with the death of Rita.










Season 8: For better or for worse, all the recall.

Dexter - la stagione migliore?

È sempre difficile giudicare una serie con il quale nel bene o nel male siamo cresciuti, condividendo numerose esperienze, emozionandoci come raramente accade.

E Dexter fa parte di questa schiera di serie, ormai mature, che merita una parentesi speciale, facendo in modo di analizzare i pregi e i difetti di questo telefilm che ha rivoluzionato l'idea e il concetto di serie tv. Quello che differenzia Dexter Morgan da un Patrick Bateman sta in un codice etico, inculcatogli dal padre Harry, quando si rese conto delle tendenze omicide del figlio. L’intelligente uso del voice-over per illustrare i pensieri del personaggio è un ottimo mezzo per delineare il confine che divide lo spettatore dal personaggio, una linea a cui spesso ci si avvicinerà ma che non si oltrepasserà mai. 

Ma come prima cosa, delle 8 stagioni; quale vi ha più colpito, appassionato di più?


Riviviamole con due parole.. 


Stagione 1: Si comincia a conoscere Dexter, i Serial Killer, il padre di Dexter, il suo passato e il suo fratello Brian.

Prende piede una delle serie più intriganti di sempre, e la prima stagione è la sintesi perfetta di ciò che bisogna aspettarsi.









Stagione 2: La seconda stagione ha come protagonisti l'indagine del Macellaio di Bay Harbor e Doakes che sospetta di Dexter.
Doakes si scopre in una tutta la sua abilità come detective che sarà anche la causa della sua fine. Emozionante fino all'ultimo istante, forse un pò forzato il modo in cui il regista decide di liberarsi del "problema Doakes".








Stagione 3: Per la prima vota nella sua vita Dexter condivide i suoi pensieri e le sue azioni omicida con qualcuno: Miguel Prado. 
Passando da amico a nemico in poco meno di una stagione e sposando Rita.

Stagione 4: Conosciamo Dexter il family guy e soprattutto Trinity.
La morte di Rita è qualcosa che lascia il segno. Forse la stagione con più drammaticità dell'intera serie.











Stagione 5: Il senso di colpa di Dexter per la morte di Rita, il bambino di Dexter, la relazione con Lumen, la ricerca del gruppo di stupratori seriali e il loro leader Jordan Chase.

Stagione 6: Il serial killer Doomsday e il fratello Sam, forse l'unica nota positiva di questa stagione abbastanza anonima.














Stagione 7: Debra conosce il "Passeggero Oscuro" di Dexter, Hannah ("True Love" di Dexter), Isaak e la morte di LaGuerta.
Il pathos di questa stagione raggiunge livelli mai visti, toccati con mano solo con la morte di Rita.

Stagione 8: Nel bene e nel male tutti la ricorderete.
