Relive The mentalist : First Season

  1. Simply put: it was the television event of the year, the series that has practically devoured the competition, the only - or at least one of the few - to achieve and overcome the obstacle of the 20 million viewers.

The Mentalist, CBS flagship along with - just think '- NCIS and winner of People's Choice Award for best drama series, created by that Bruno Heller, who wrote and produced a gem raw and foul-mouthed like Rome, is not only the surprise of the year promptly confirmed for a second season, but has re-launched explosively the figure of the detective and investigation pure. Why? How Is It? He deserves it? After the cut we'll find out.

It 's true, in terms of plot and premise similarities there, especially Psych, but is the show of USA Network's Monk as Maigret: here, no frills dramatic or pathetic, the tone is ironic, witty, light, but never grotesque, farcical or merely ridanciano and often the thickness of the story is more interesting than the show itself would imply.

The scripts are written with care, especially in the game with the cliché of the classic yellow (significant episode 1 × 16, Bloodshot, where Jane is temporarily without a view) and the royal exaggerate not ever limiting - clear - to follow the star.

Relive The Mentalist - "Red Hair and Silver Tape"

In the beginning was Remington Steele, at least in memory of the writer, that marked the title of each of its 96 episodes with puns on Steel (steel) and the like; then came The L-Word, where all the titles begin, of course, with the letter L.
Surely then they will not be playing a few series by titrating the individual episodes with themes and words occurring.
The mentalist chose red as the thread of his narrative (it is the key color of the assassin who killed the family of the protagonist) and its securities.

For this second episode, the keys are the enigma red hair and duct tape and, with this second episode, the series of Bruno Heller confirms the good quality of his scripts and its characters, not adding anything special, but smoothing some of the defects of the pilot.

The prologue, in addition to launching the narrative, of course, serves to define the capacity of the protagonist.
The episode is centered on one of the cornerstones of the new youth culture neocons, chastity ring, must find a concrete direction from having to follow for the rest the season - if not the series - and does it in a more than decent, improving the relationship between Patrick and his colleagues, especially the beautiful Teresa.

And the thread that binds the incidents and investigations, we must admit, seems to have already tied too.

Relive the mentalist 1x01

Some might think that, turns you turn around, the series are all more or less equal, based more or less on the same themes, patterns, concepts at best. And perhaps it would be wrong: this time, thanks to CBS, we are faced with a detective, but not an official agent, but one of those who work outside, you can see every detail and study and analyze human behavior to deduce illuminating investigative hypotheses. And someone must have thought Monk. In addition, the protagonist of this series is mistaken for a psychic, and in fact for a while 'there someone thought Psych.
Patrick Jane is an assistant police, the sharp mind and the eye along, th
at as the old Sherlock Holmes deduces the truth or by particular attitudes: after a period of enforced break, back to help out the team of detectives Lisbon, also because the new case to be addressed is related to Red John, a serial killer who has broken his past.

From now I would like to start talking about the show that more than any other I've hit and passionate, now that many of you have seen it come to an end and want to relive it or to those of you who, perhaps, have yet to see it. Do it.
